Student Services

The elective request time period will be during the 2nd semester of the current school year. Students and families will be notified of when the elective request period is available. We do our best to honor requests and fill our programs based on demand.

All courses can be found in our catalog which is updated and released every winter. Students wishing to take honors courses can speak with their Academic Advisors to change their diploma track or to move into honors courses for the next available scheduling period. Students will be eligible to enroll in honors, AP, and CCP courses based on prerequisites and performance testing, which may include district benchmark assessments, state testing, or initial placement tests. All honors placement may be subject to teacher and administrative approval.

Student Services will review students’ transcripts to identify transferable courses. Anything not transferable will be discussed with the family to ensure the best course of action to continue with a graduation track.

Schedules are released a few weeks prior to the school year starting.

Changing the graduation or diploma track would be done in consultation with the Student Services Advisors. Please be sure to provide all transcripts and goals with the Academic Advisor to ensure the graduation plan is identified.

Club offerings work differently at Wake Prep and our sister schools than traditional public high schools. We do not offer clubs in the same sense that traditional public schools offer clubs. Academic activities that might ordinarily be considered a club, we look to offer as an elective class (ex. Yearbook, Student Government, Photography, etc). As the school year progresses, teachers may propose additional academic-based activities as interest and time permits (ex. robotics, theatre, chess, NHS, etc.). Our offerings will grow as our school grows and becomes more established.
