2022 Enrollment FAQs
I already filled out an application, do I have to apply again for the 2022-23 school year?
Yes. All prospective students will need to apply during the Open Enrollment period for 2022-2023. Applications will be available by clicking the application link on the WPA website in November 2022.
What will be the location for the WPA campus?
Stay tuned for an announcement about our new location soon.
When will the campus development begin?
Campus development will commence after the site plan has been approved by the Town of Wake Forest and the Department of Transportation. We estimate that we will begin development of our campus in the Summer of 2021.
What is the revised vision for the WPA campus for 2022-23?
Our plans are to have 2 adjacent buildings on the campus as well as an athletic field. The K-6th grade students will be in the elementary building and the 7-11th grade students will be housed in the secondary building for the 2022-23 school year.
Will WPA inform families of development updates?
WPA will stay in constant contact with all prospective families from our interest and application list. We will update on school development as well as other important information via email, Facebook, and our school website.
What will be the enrollment for the 2022-23 school year?
The enrollment will be 1,420 students as indicated in our Year 2 enrollment numbers located in our charter application.
What are the class sizes for the 2022-23 school year?
We are anticipating approximately 150 students per grade level with 20-25 students per class. This is an estimate and will vary by grade level.
Will WPA follow a traditional or year-round schedule?
Our students will follow the traditional calendar with classes scheduled to start in August 2022.
Do families pay tuition to attend WPA?
No, WPA is a tuition-free public charter school in North Carolina that offers choice to parents, students and teachers.
Who is eligible to apply to WPA?
Applicants must be 5 years of age by August 31, 2022.
The parent or guardian of applicants must be a legal resident of North Carolina at the time of the lottery. Proof of residency is required before a student can be enrolled.
Does WPA have a dress code?
Yes, WPA implements a dress code that eliminates distractions yet still allows for variety.
