Heather Brame
Wake Preparatory Academy, K-6 Director
Heather Brame brings over 25 years of experience in education to her role as Director of Wake Prep K-6. She began her career as an elementary teacher after earning her bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University and later became a National Board Certified educator, mentor, and literacy coach. She holds a master’s degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University.
Mrs. Brame has served as a school principal for more than a decade and most recently as Assistant Director for grades 7–12 at Wake Prep. She is passionate about fostering strong relationships, setting high expectations, and creating a supportive environment that enables students and teachers to thrive.
Inspired by Rita Pierson’s belief that “every child deserves a champion,” Mrs. Brame is committed to ensuring every student feels valued and empowered to succeed. Outside of school, she enjoys time with her family, relaxing at the lake, and reading a good book.
As Director, Mrs. Brame is excited to continue building Wake Prep K-6’s culture of excellence and connection. Go Guardians!
Krista Wyman
Wake Preparatory Academy, 7-12 Director
Krista Wyman, a dedicated educator with 18 years of high school teaching experience in subjects like science and health sciences, spent 16 of those years in Wake County public and charter schools. She later served as Dean of Students and Assistant Director of Academics, helping successfully launch Wake Preparatory in its first 2022-23 school year.
Originally from a small town in Canada, Ms. Wyman earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and moved to the U.S. in 1997. She completed her teaching certifications at Florida Southern College and, after relocating to North Carolina in 2003, Ms. Wyman became a proud American citizen.
With her steadfast commitment to education and excellence, Ms. Wyman strives to inspire and empower both staff and students, fostering a culture of high achievement and continuous growth at Wake Preparatory Academy.
