Campus Director

Mrs. Cristina Schubert is the Director for Wake Preparatory Academy (WPA). She comes to WPA with an extensive background in education as a teacher, campus administrator, and district administrator. She holds a master’s degree in education from Plymouth State University and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Davis.

She joined the Charter One network of schools in 2012 as an experienced, award-winning teacher. The following year she was promoted to Assistant Director, and soon after, went on to serve as a campus director. Between 2015 and 2020 she had the honor of opening and successfully leading two new Charter One K-12 campuses, and earned Charter One’s prestigious Administrative Team of the Year award in 2018. Most recently, Mrs. Schubert served as Charter One’s K-6 Director of Academics, overseeing the academic program for all Charter One schools nationwide.

In addition to her experience in Education, Mrs. Schubert has a diverse background in performing arts and athletics. In her free time she enjoys traveling, boating, and riding ATVs with her husband, Charles, and two sons, Chaz and Liam, tap dancing, and playing the drums.

Mrs. Schubert is thrilled for the opportunity to lead the opening of Wake Preparatory Academy and looks forward to meeting and getting to know all of our new students and their families.

Our Mission

Wake Preparatory Academy will provide a challenging, individualized education program with a moral focus while preparing its students to graduate from high school with paths to acceptance and success in college, a career and beyond.

Our Goal

Our students’ intelligence will expand through the execution of direct instruction complemented by project-based learning techniques that have real-world application. Additionally, this multi-faceted approach in conjunction with RAISE Leadership will advance students’ social competence and self-efficacy, empowering students to use their unique experiences as effective resources in their learning.
